In short
The best robot vacuum for most homes is the eufy Omni C28. The deciding criterion is how much upkeep the dock removes: it empties into a 3 L bag, washes the roller mop and hot-air dries it at 50°C, with 15,000 Pa of claimed suction and camera-free LiDAR navigation.

OUR PICK
eufy Omni C28
Best for: Multi-pet homes with hard floors and short carpets that want a self-cleaning roller mop without a camera.
The Omni C28 has the most complete dock on this page and the strongest suction figure, so it handles the most chores without you. Its listing gives no runtime, which is the one real gap.
The 28 cm HydroJet roller has 24 water ports and spins at 270 RPM, with a scraper sending dirty water to a separate tank.
DuoSpiral brush is rated for hair up to 30 cm (11.8 in) without wrapping, per eufy's own cleaning tests.
The station empties into a 3 L bag, washes the mop and hot-air dries it at 50°C for up to 75 days of hands-off use.
Manufacturer figures from the product listings; the dark bar is our pick. Pa figures only compare fairly between models measured the same way.
Specs taken from the product listings on October 10, 2026. –: not listed by the manufacturer. Coverage and runtime: manufacturer claims, often lower in real homes and yards.
The models in detail
This guide is for anyone buying a first robot vacuum or replacing an old one and trying to make sense of docks, mops and suction claims. We picked six models from Amazon.com product listings checked on October tenth, 2026, choosing ones that cover the most common needs: full-service docks, simple self-emptying vacuums and vacuum-mop hybrids. We compare what the listings and brand charts state; we did not run these robots in a home ourselves.
1 · Our pick
eufy Omni C28
Robot vacuum4,3/5 from 59602 Amazon customer ratings (as of October 10, 2026)
For a single robot that covers most homes, the C28 asks the least of you. Its station empties into a 3 L bag rated for up to 75 days, washes the 28 cm HydroJet roller, dries it with 50°C hot air, refills clean water and collects the dirty water. Suction is listed at 15,000 Pa, about twice the 7,000 Pa of the Omni C20 and well above the 8,000 Pa of the X10 Pro Omni. Navigation is LiDAR with no camera, which some buyers prefer for privacy, but eufy only claims avoidance of objects 3 x 3 x 3 cm and larger, so loose cables and socks can still catch it. The mop lifts 10.8 mm on carpet and the DuoSpiral brush is rated for hair up to 30 cm. What the listing leaves out is runtime and battery capacity, and dust bags are a consumable you will keep buying. It averages 4.3 out of 5 across 59,602 ratings, a total that may be shared with other variants.
Pros, cons and specs
Pros
The 28 cm HydroJet roller has 24 water ports and spins at 270 RPM, with a scraper sending dirty water to a separate tank.
DuoSpiral brush is rated for hair up to 30 cm (11.8 in) without wrapping, per eufy's own cleaning tests.
The station empties into a 3 L bag, washes the mop and hot-air dries it at 50°C for up to 75 days of hands-off use.
Camera-free LiDAR navigation avoids obstacles of 3 x 3 x 3 cm and larger.

The C20 earns its place for homes with low sofas and beds. At 3.35 in (85 mm) tall, eufy says it slips under furniture with 3.54 in of clearance, which the taller docking robots here may not manage. It is also one of only two models on this page with a stated runtime: up to 132 min in Standard mode, against up to 90 min for the Shark AI Ultra. The Omni station empties into a 3.1 L bag for up to 60 days and washes the spinning pads, but dries them with room-temperature air rather than the heated air of the C28 or X10 Pro Omni. The trade-off is suction. At 7,000 Pa it has the lowest figure here, and eufy itself says carpets over 20 mm (0.78 in) should be set as no-go zones. Wi-Fi is 2.4 GHz only. The 54,090 ratings, averaging 4.4, appear to be pooled with other eufy models.
Pros, cons and specs
Pros
At 3.35 in (85 mm) tall it fits under furniture with as little as 3.54 in of clearance.
The Omni station empties into a 3.1 L bag for up to 60 days and washes and dries the mop pads.
Mop Master pads press with 6N at 180 RPM, and the mop lifts automatically on carpet.
Runs up to 132 min in Standard mode and stores up to 3 floor maps.
Cons
7,000 Pa is the lowest suction in eufy's current comparison table (15,000 to 35,000 Pa on other models).
Mop drying uses room-temperature air, not hot air, and carpets over 20 mm (0.78 in) must be set as no-go zones.
Wi-Fi is 2.4 GHz only and boundary strips are not compatible.
Best for: Budget shoppers with hard floors and low furniture who want a full-service station.
Skip it if you have thick carpets or want hot-air mop drying.

This Roomba fits buyers who mostly want the floor vacuumed on schedule and an occasional damp wipe on hard floors. The AutoEmpty dock takes debris into a bag for up to 75 days, the same interval as the C28, and iRobot says the bag traps 99% of allergens as small as 0.7 microns. ClearView LiDAR maps the home, and the robot detects carpet and avoids it while mopping. The app lets you choose vacuum only, mop only or both, and SmartScrub is claimed to give 2x deeper scrubbing. The limits are clear once you compare it with the eufy docks: the pad does not lift, the dock does not wash it, and you rinse it yourself. Suction is described only as 70X more power-lifting suction, with no Pa figure, and no runtime appears on the product page. It averages 4.4 out of 5 across 49,377 ratings, close to the eufy models.
Pros, cons and specs
Pros
Empties into a bagged AutoEmpty dock for up to 75 days; the bag traps 99% of allergens as small as 0.7 microns, according to the listing.
ClearView LiDAR maps the home, and the robot detects and avoids carpets while mopping.
Vac only, mop only or combo modes, with adjustable passes, suction and mopping solution in the app.
SmartScrub adds 2x deeper scrubbing; the box includes 1 extra mop pad.
Cons
Dock bags are a consumable to replace.
The pad does not lift and the dock does not wash it.
Suction is given only as 70X more power-lifting suction, with no Pa figure or runtime.
Best for: Budget buyers who want LiDAR mapping, light mopping and a self-emptying dock in one box.
Skip it if you want a mop that lifts over rugs, a self-washing station or a bagless dock.

If your floors are mostly carpet and you have no use for a mop, the AI Ultra keeps things simple. Its bagless self-empty base holds up to 60 days of debris, so there are no dock bags to rebuy, unlike the C28, C20, X10 Pro Omni and Roomba on this page. The 360° LiDAR maps the home, detects objects and works in the dark, and Matrix Clean runs multiple passes in a grid pattern over the same area. Shark says the self-cleaning brushroll is meant to prevent hair wrap. Runtime is listed at up to 90 minutes, after which it recharges and resumes. What it does not give you is a suction figure in Pa, so you cannot compare it directly with the eufy models. Only 1 side brush and 1 filter come in the box. Some text on the product page describes a different Shark mopping model; this one is vacuum only. It averages 4 out of 5 across 41,687 ratings, a count likely shared with another Shark.
Pros, cons and specs

The X10 Pro Omni competes most directly with our pick. Its station self-empties into a 2.5L bag that needs replacing about every 2 months, washes the dual spinning mops with fresh water and dries them with 45°C heated air. The 3L clean water tank is rated to mop up to 2,000 sq ft multiple times, according to the listing. Suction is 8,000 Pa, below the C28 but above the C20, and the mops lift 12 mm, slightly more than the 10.8 mm of the C28. The real difference is obstacle avoidance: AI.See is claimed to recognize over 100 objects, which helps in homes where small items end up on the floor, while the C28 relies on LiDAR alone. Like the C28, it gives no runtime or battery capacity, it needs 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and 110V power, and dust bags are a recurring purchase. It averages 4.2 out of 5 across 39,281 ratings.
Pros, cons and specs
Pros
The station washes the mop pads with fresh water and dries them with 45°C heated air, according to the listing.
The 2.5L dust bag needs replacing about every 2 months, and the 3L tank mops up to 2,000 sq ft multiple times.

Cons
Dust bags are a consumable to buy.
Works only on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and 110V power.
Battery capacity and runtime are not given.
Best for: Pet owners who want a full self-washing vacuum-mop station with spinning mops.
Skip it if your Wi-Fi is 5GHz-only or you want a bagless base.
This Shark suits homes that want vacuuming and some mopping without buying dock bags. The XL bagless base holds up to 60 days of debris, and its HEPA filtration is rated for 99.97% of dust down to 0.3 microns. The sonic pad scrubs hard floors 100x per minute while the robot vacuums, and CleanEdge Detect uses air blasts at edges and corners. Compared with the eufy docks, the base stops at emptying: it does not wash, dry or refill the pad, so you swap and wash the 2 included microfiber pads yourself. The listing also does not mention mop lifting, which means rugs may need to be excluded on mopping runs. Suction in Pa and runtime are missing, and Shark compares its cleaning gains only with its own older models. A 12oz. starter bottle of cleaning solution and a 1-year limited warranty come in the box. It averages 4 out of 5 across 36,550 ratings, likely pooled with another Shark listing.
Pros, cons and specs
Pros
Vacuums and sonic-mops in one pass, scrubbing hard floors 100x per minute, according to the listing.
The XL bagless base holds up to 60 days of debris and uses HEPA filtration rated for 99.97% of dust down to 0.3 microns.
Matrix Clean grid passes and CleanEdge Detect air blasts target carpets, edges and corners.
Ships with 2 reusable microfiber pads, a 12oz. starter cleaning solution and a 1-year limited warranty.
Cons
Suction power in Pa and runtime are not given.
The base does not wash or dry the mop pads; pads are swapped and washed by hand.
Cleaning gains are quoted against older Shark models, not against competitors.
Best for: Households with carpets and hard floors that want a LiDAR vacuum-mop with a bagless self-empty base.
Skip it if you want a base that also washes and dries the mop, or you need runtime and suction figures.
Your floor mix decides whether you need a mop at all. Mostly carpet points to a vacuum-only robot like the Shark AI Ultra, which has no water tank, mop or pad to look after. Mostly hard floors make a mopping robot worth it, and the eufy stations on this page wash the mop for you. Mixed homes should look at mop lifting: the C28 lifts 10.8 mm and the X10 Pro Omni 12 mm, while the Roomba 105 Combo and the Shark Matrix Plus do not lift. Our vacuum and mop combo comparison goes deeper on this point.
Decide how much dock you want
The dock, more than the robot, decides how often you touch the machine. A basic self-empty base, like the Shark AI Ultra's, only empties the bin, holding up to 60 days of debris according to the listing. A full-service station, like the C28's, also washes, dries and refills the mop. Bagged docks such as the Roomba's mean buying bags; bagless bases mean emptying a bin by hand. Our self-emptying robot vacuum guide compares those two approaches model by model. Check the station's footprint too, since the larger ones need a clear wall.
Read suction figures with care
A Pa figure is useful for comparing models from the same brand, but it is a manufacturer claim, not a measured result. On this page, eufy lists 15,000 Pa for the C28, 8,000 Pa for the X10 Pro Omni and 7,000 Pa for the C20. Shark gives no Pa figure at all, and iRobot only says 70X more suction than an older Roomba line. So you cannot rank all six by suction. Use the number as one signal among several, alongside the brushroll design and how the robot moves across carpet.
Check navigation and obstacle avoidance
Every robot here uses LiDAR mapping, so the difference is in obstacle avoidance. LiDAR lets the robot clean in rows, save maps and respect no-go zones; all six listings describe some form of it. Obstacle avoidance varies more. The X10 Pro Omni adds AI.See, claimed to recognize over 100 objects, while the C28 avoids only objects of 3 x 3 x 3 cm and larger. If cables, socks or pet toys often end up on your floor, give avoidance more weight than suction. The C20 also stores up to 3 floor maps for multi-level homes.
Plan for pets and hair
Pet owners should look at the brush first and the suction second. Tangle-resistant brushes cut down on the chore of cutting hair off the roller. The C28's DuoSpiral brush is rated for hair up to 30 cm, the C20 has a Pro-Detangle Comb, and both Sharks use a self-cleaning brushroll meant to prevent hair wrap. Bin and bag size matter too, because shedding fills them faster than the stated intervals suggest. Our robot vacuum for pet hair page compares the models that suit shedding dogs and cats.
Count the running costs
The purchase price is not the whole cost: docks have consumables. Bagged docks, which cover every eufy and the Roomba on this page, need replacement bags, and the X10 Pro Omni bag needs changing about every 2 months, according to the listing. Bagless Shark bases skip bags but need their bin emptied and filters replaced. Mopping models use pads and sometimes cleaning solution. If you want the lowest upfront cost, our budget robot vacuum page lists simpler models that still map the home with LiDAR.
Skip it if…
your home has lots of thick, high-pile rugs and you want a mopping robot, since none of these mops lift high enough to clear every rug.
you want a robot that can handle stairs between floors without being carried, which no robot vacuum here does.
your Wi-Fi network runs only on 5 GHz, because several of these models connect only to 2.4 GHz.
you do not want any recurring purchase, as most docks here use bags and every mopping model uses pads.
your floors are usually covered in cords, clothes and toys, since the robot will spend more time stuck than cleaning.
FAQ
What is the best robot vacuum right now?
Among the six models we compared, the eufy Omni C28 is the best robot vacuum for most homes. Its dock empties a 3 L bag for up to 75 days and washes and hot-air dries the roller mop, and eufy lists 15,000 Pa of suction. If your floors are mostly carpet and you do not need a mop, the Shark AI Ultra is a simpler alternative.
Is a robot vacuum and mop combo better than a vacuum-only robot?
Only if you have enough hard floor to mop. A combo adds a water tank, a mop and, on the best docks, mop washing and drying, which means more parts and more consumables. For carpet-heavy homes, a vacuum-only robovac like the Shark AI Ultra avoids that complexity. For tile, vinyl or sealed wood, a model like the C28 saves real time.
Do robot vacuums work well on carpet?
They work on low and medium carpet, but results depend on the brush and the suction. The manufacturers on this page do not publish carpet-specific results you can compare across brands. eufy itself advises setting carpets over 20 mm as no-go zones for the C20, which has the lowest suction figure here. On carpet-heavy floors, favor stronger suction claims and a robot that lifts its mop or has none.
How often do you need to empty a self-emptying robovac?
The dock, not the robot, sets the interval, and the figures are manufacturer estimates. The C28 and the Roomba 105 Combo list up to 75 days, the C20 and both Sharks up to 60 days, and the X10 Pro Omni bag needs changing about every 2 months. Shedding pets, a large floor area and daily runs all fill bags faster than those estimates, so treat them as best-case figures.
Do robot vacuums need Wi-Fi?
Most need Wi-Fi for mapping, schedules and no-go zones through the app. Several models on this page, including the C20, the X10 Pro Omni and the Roomba 105 Combo, connect only to 2.4 GHz networks. If your router runs a single 5 GHz network, check that it can also broadcast on 2.4 GHz before you buy. Without the app, you lose most of the features that make LiDAR mapping useful.
